Standing on the subway I have always been able to grade exams and even create worksheets to pop in the Xerox machine at school, but lately I have added a workout aspect: I speedwalk to an express stop on Sugar Hill and then when the train lets me off downtown I speedwalk to Avenue D in Alphabet City. Counting morning and evening commutes it adds up to 40 minutes of speedwalking a day -- not the hugest workout but it is something. I can already see it doing things to my calves.
When I say speedwalk, I mean all-out, Doctor Detroit stuff, really silly looking. I time the Harlem end of it in both directions. I had a personal best today! Times so far:
8:31, 8:31, 7:55, 8:02, 8:21, 8:39, and (ta-daa!) 7:32.
