I start to hear lyrics after a few beers. It can be surprising.

Sometimes I begin to understand the syntax after forty or so years.

Until a couple of years ago, I thought it was, "I get the news. I need on the weather report." {In other words, I get the news; what I really need is the weather.)

The meaning sometimes takes longer.
