The first week of weather brings memories of last summer when my mom and I attended a ceremony to recognize one of Michigan's oldest oak trees.

Warm weather also brings memories of living in the cabin at West Webster NY built by my grandfather, Medes Grineff. What a summer cabin! I was fascinated with the sounds of bobcats at night, beekeeping in the day, setting things on fire at any time, and flirtations with getting lost in the woods -- only half-accidently.
