Futon Slipping Solved

Problem: Futon pad slouches down on futon. Maybe slouches isn't a strong enough word. The pad hangs off of the front of the frame looking like hanging moss in a Bayou swamp.

Solution: Warning -- requires double penetration of the futon pad with a pair of scissors. At the center of the pad, near where your neck hits it when you sit back, thread a shoelace all the way through the mattress (poke two holes for this with the scissors) and tie the shoelace around the frame. I did this and it has worked great for two weeks. And I thought it would look hacked up but really you only see an inch of the shoelace and even then it looks like it's supposed to be there, like quilting or something. My shoelace is even the same color as the pad, so you don't see it at all, actually. Maybe this can be the start of a futon FAQ column.
